Care Instructions
Our pieces are handcrafted from liquid latex, cured and formed by hand. It is built to last, but latex is a living material. Please handle with intention.
-
Wipe the exterior and interior gently with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with cool water.
For deeper cleaning, use a pH-neutral, fragrance-free soap diluted in cool water. Never apply soap directly to the surface.
Wipe clean, then buff dry immediately with a clean cloth. Do not leave water pooled on the surface or inside the bag. Keep the back open until fully dried.
Never machine wash. Never submerge.
-
To restore and maintain the signature latex sheen, apply a latex-specific silicone oil to a cloth first, never directly onto the bag. There is a small spray bottle with silicone oil included in the package.
Buff in light, circular motions.
Avoid petroleum-based products, oils, or generic leather conditioners as these degrade latex over time.
-
The inside of the bag is unlined latex and will become tacky over time. This is
normal behaviour for the material.
Apply a small amount of silicone oil from the included bottle to a soft cloth and
wipe the interior lightly, paying attention to corners and seams where
stickiness concentrates.
Do this whenever the interior feels tacky or after extended periods of storage.
Do not use talcum powder or cornstarch as substitutes. These can degrade
the latex surface and trap moisture.
Allow the interior to dry fully before closing the bag for storage or usage.
-
The metal frame sits unbound between layers of fabric & latex, so it may move in position. If it shifts, simply ease it back into place.
The handle is metallic and may tarnish with prolonged exposure to moisture or perfume.
Dry the handle thoroughly after any contact with water.
Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, salt water and alcohol-based products.
Polish occasionally with a dry microfibre cloth.
-
● Store in a cool, dark, dry place away from direct sunlight, UV light, and heat
sources. UV exposure causes latex to discolor and degrade.
● Do not store in airtight plastic bags. Allow the material to breathe, use a dust
bag or a breathable cloth pouch.
● Store flat. Do not fold or compress the bag for extended periods, as latex can
develop permanent creases. If your bag gets deformed you can use warm
water on a cloth and apply it to the crease. You can also use a heavy object
and put it on the flattened bag to get rid of deformations.
● Keep away from copper, bronze, and untreated metals, which can cause
irreversible staining on latex and degradation of the material.
-
Latex develops character with time. Minor patina and variation in sheen are not flaws
— they are evidence of a material that is genuinely alive. With proper care, your
SKINLESS piece will remain a statement for years.
